Local community pharmacies provide walk-in high street access to wellbeing and self-care advice, as well as functioning as central hubs of testing and vaccination. They are vital sources of information and treatment, working to relieve pressure on local GP services.
We all know just how important our pharmacies are, and yet they continue to close across the UK. In fact, around 8 community pharmacies close their doors every week.
This Conservative Government has allowed failure after failure to devastate our NHS, and are now pushing community pharmacies to the edge.
In March I met with community pharmacy leaders to show my support for the new Fight4Pharmacies campaign, and to learn about what more I can do to help preserve the community pharmacies we have here in St Albans.
