On Monday morning, I popped into the โBecoming Usโ exhibition at St Albans Museum, which celebrates the contributions of local St Albans residents of Afro-Caribbean descent.
Co-curator Shelley Hayles showed me round. She talked me through the stories and artifacts on display, the map made by people of all ages to mark places of significance where they, as residents of Afro-Caribbean descent live, work, play and volunteer across our area.
Some of it was harrowing; some of it full of joy.
If youโve got time to pop by, itโs well worth a visit: itโs open until 30th June, and is completely free.
