SEGRO’s contractor’s are causing misery for local residents. Noisy and disruptive building work is happening during anti-social hours, whilst the piling is making some people’s houses shake.
To make matters worse SEGRO have failed to communicate properly so residents don’t know what to expect and when.
So, I’ve written to SEGRO, to ask again that they:
Hold a public meeting for residents
Form the promised community liaison group
Ensure all residents impacted by noisy or disruptive work are informed with adequate notice
Outline their plans to improve noise monitoring and mitigation measures
This follows disappointing correspondence (or lack thereof) with SEGRO – despite being on SEGRO’s case for almost two months, they have failed to respond to my letter calling on them to come and talk to the community.
Further to this, despite ample warning, SEGRO missed the most recent community meeting on the 3 March at Greenwood’s Sports Hall.
Whilst SEGRO are saying they will hold a public exhibition, they still haven’t come back to us on a date.
I have also made enquiries with Network Rail who have confirmed that a rail tunnel is scheduled to be constructed in December. I’ve asked about disruptions to passenger services: they aren’t sure yet what the impact will be
I will continue to press SEGRO to improve their communication with residents and to hold a public meeting sooner rather than later so residents get the opportunity to put their questions directly. You can have a read of my latest letter here
