World Mental Health Day

First and foremost, World Mental Health Day is a chance for us to think and talk about our mental health, and collectively raise awareness of its importance.

Locally in St Albans, we’re lucky enough to have some excellent youth mental health charities such as Youth Talk, the OLLIE Foundation and Time to Talk.

It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the challenges facing our current mental health system, something I hear about during my visits to schools and scout groups, and in my advice surgeries.

Nationally, Lib Dems have a plan to improve mental health access and support:

✅ Mental health practitioners in every school

✅ Mental health hubs in every community

✅ An expansion of young peoples mental health services to age 25

✅ An end to out of area placement

✅ Mental health MOTs at key stages throughout your life
