Thank you! Together we have raised a fantastic £7510 for local charity Citizens Advice.
This month energy prices are going up – again. The last time that happened, Citizens Advice had to turn away 97 people because they’d reached capacity. This year, because of your generosity, an extra 150 people can be seen.
Your generous donation has gone to help residents like Jim. Jim and his three children were facing eviction after falling into debt. But, after speaking with a trained Citizens Advice advisor, the team uncovered an admin error that meant Jim hadn’t been paid the correct amount of housing support for his children, and he received backdated benefits of £10,000 to put him and his family back on their feet.
Your donation will pay for approximately 150 people to speak to a highly trained adviser with the time and skill needed to help get them back on track.
That’s 150 families right here in St Albans who now have access to the support they need.
A huge thank you to everybody who donated and took part in this year’s appeal. My yearly Christmas Appeal serves as a reminder of the generosity of people across St Albans, I’m so proud to live here and represent you.
P.S. Although my Christmas Appeal has now come to an end for this year, people across the district rely on Citizens Advice all year round. If you want to donate (it’s not too late!), look into volunteering, or consider becoming an advisor, you can find out more by clicking the link below.
