In early December, I secured a Parliamentary debate on special educational needs and disability (SEND) services in Herts, raising both the damning Ofsted report and the issue of chronic underfunding.
Specifically, I asked the SEND Minister to:
issue an improvement notice to Herts SEND Area Partnership
appoint a SEND Commissioner to drive improvement forward
release the undisputed £2m shortfall without delay
fix the absurd funding formula which puts children in Herts at a permanent disadvantage
The Minister’s answers were pretty rubbish so I’ll have to keep going.
