Daisy Cooper MP attended Sunday’s packed out community meeting organised by the “Fight the Freight” campaign.
The campaign have been granted a day in court to test the lawfulness of Hertfordshire County Council’s land sale – BUT this will cost money. If you want to learn more about the campaign or donate to their cause, click the link below.
This is the only planned freight interchange in the country that won’t have any direct access to a motorway, will be wedged cheek by jowl between villages and will attract 1000s of polluting lorries onto our roads, causing gridlock in and around some villages.
Daisy Cooper MP for St Albans said ‘I’ve spent the last three months trying to hold SEGRO to their promise of holding a public meeting. I suggested dates in January and March but they keep making excuses. I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt that they wanted to be good neighbours and take part in residents’ meetings in good faith. I’ve seen little evidence of that, but will keep pushing.’
