Luton Airport expansion application – my letter to Government Ministers

✈️ The Labour government will soon need to make a decision about the expansion of Luton Airport following an Inquiry.

🌎 It will be an early test of their commitment to reach Net Zero by 2050, to follow the advice of government climate advisors, and to protect local communities in Hertfordshire from continuing flight path noise pollution.

📣I’ve led the campaign against Luton Airport expansion in Parliament since I was elected in 2019, but repeatedly came up against a Conservative government that was willing to ignore advice from its own climate advisors. The Labour government must do better.

🪧If permitted, the expansion would be from 19 million to a whopping 32 million passengers per year, flying in the face of the advice of the Climate Change Committee, and the concerns of local authorities and communities.

✍️ I’ve written to Labour Ministers, along with my new constituency neighbour Lib Dem Victoria Collins MP, to urge them to reject the expansion application.
