It was great to join the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the much anticipated Jubilee Square yesterday!
The project will provide 33 social homes for people and families on the housing register and the 60 remaining homes will be sold on a shared ownership basis to increase affordability.
It really is a beautiful example of sustainable development: energy efficient social homes, on a brownfield site, with commercial space to enhance the thriving city centre, a new walkway linking Victoria Street and Civic Close, and the revamped Quaker gardens now the start of a new green corridor through our city centre.
Oh, and an amazing view of the Cathedral and city sky-scape for some lucky family on the top floor too!
Huge congratulations to the Lib Dem run St Albans District Council, Watford Community Housing and everyone else involved. A triumph!
