My number one priority will always be helping and supporting my constituents. If you live in the St Albans constituency you can contact me via one of the forms below or by email, letter or telephone using the details listed on this page. You can also speak to me at my weekly advice surgery – please get in touch for more details about these and to book an appointment.
Frequently asked questions
There is a strict parliamentary protocol that dictates that Members of Parliament may only deal with casework on behalf of their own constituents. If you live outside the St Albans constituency then, due to the need to prioritise responding to my own constituents, I will not be able to reply, and you will need to contact your local MP. You can check who your MP is here: https://members.parliament.uk/members/Commons.
As an MP I can help with problems that you are having which are the responsibility of a national government department, such as social security benefits and pensions; passports, visas and immigration; HMRC and tax credits; or child maintenance services. You can find more information about who to contact about your issue on the UK Parliament website here: https://parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-an-mp-or-lord/who-should-i-contact/.
If you need help with something connected to housing, waste disposal, schools, parking, planning or any other locally-delivered service, the best place to start is with the local Council. You can find the details of your local county councillor here: https://democracy.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ and district councillors here: https://gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors.
I receive hundreds of emails, letters and phone calls from constituents every day – many relating to urgent health care, housing, immigration and social security issues. My team and I must prioritise these urgent casework issues and we will be responding as follows:
Urgent casework issues
I will respond to all urgent casework issues – such as homelessness, urgent care issues, deportations, and urgent medical issues – raised with me as quickly as possible.
Non-urgent casework issues
I will respond to all non-urgent casework issues raised with me, however due to the need to prioritise urgent casework, it may take me a few weeks to reply.
Policy questions
I will respond to all policy questions raised with me, however due to the need to prioritise urgent casework it may take me a number of weeks to reply.
You can be assured that all data you share with me will be treated in the strictest confidence and only be used for the purposes for which you provide it. You can read more about this in my privacy policy here: https://daisycooper.org.uk/privacy.
